B Corp Certification

B Corp Certification is a globally recognized certification that proves a company meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It's awarded by B Lab Global, a nonprofit organization, to businesses that demonstrate they are using profits and growth to create a positive impact for people, communities, and the planet—not just shareholders.

Certified B Corporations (B Corps) are leaders in:

  • Sustainability and climate responsibility
  • Ethical governance and transparency
  • Employee well-being and workplace equity
  • Community engagement and social impact
  • Responsible supply chain practices

How It Works

  1. Complete the B Impact Assessment (BIA): Score at least 80 out of 200 points across five categories: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
  2. Submit Documentation & Undergo Verification: Provide evidence for claims, participate in interviews, and complete a risk review.
  3. Meet Legal Requirements: Update governance documents to commit the business to consider all stakeholders—not just shareholders.
  4. Recertify Every Three Years: Maintain and improve impact performance over time.

Why It Matters

B Corp Certification signals to customers, investors, and partners that your business is:

  • Purpose-driven and committed to long-term sustainability
  • Accountable to all stakeholders—not just shareholders
  • Verified by a rigorous, independent process
  • Part of a global community of businesses working for systems change

More than 8,000 companies in over 90 countries and 150 industries are certified B Corps—including Patagonia, Ben & Jerry's, and Natura.
